
Dawn Quigley, PhD, comes to Hamline with over 18 years of experience in K-12 schools, both as a classroom reading and English teacher and as a co-director of an Indian Education Program. At Hamline, she serves as an assistant professor of education, working primarily in elementary education.
Quigley is an award winning children’s author of the Jo Jo Makoons chapter book series and a number of forthcoming children's books with HarperCollins. Her debut young adult novel, Apple in the Middle, was awarded an American Indian Youth Literature Honor and was nominated for a WILLA award, which honors outstanding literature featuring women's stories. Her areas of scholarly expertise include teacher education, Native American literature, and Indigenous research methods. Quigley is a citizen of the Turtle Mountain Band of Ojibwe, North Dakota.
