Types of financial aid
We support incoming first-year and on-campus transfer students through a variety of financial aid options, such as merit-based scholarships, talent scholarships, United Methodist awards, and more. Students are encouraged to apply for outside scholarships. Hamline does not reduce scholarship and grant dollars if a student receives outside or private dollars.
Money and loans are stressful, but the financial aid office was so informative. They walked me through the financial aid steps and highlighted the most important parts of what it would look like down the line. It's hard to come to a university thinking, 'Oh my gosh, it's so much money, what am I supposed to do?' But after sitting down with them, I was totally confident that I could do this."
