Biography

Dan Loritz is responsible for overseeing Hamline’s Development Office—comprised of annual giving programs, grants, and major and planned giving—raising philanthropic support for the University’s strategic priorities. He is a strategic partner in providing development support to the President, Board of Trustees and academic leadership across the University. He previously served as Hamline’s Vice President of University Relations from 1991-2009 and as Leadership Gift Officer before retiring as Vice President Emeritus in 2012. He also taught in Hamline's School of Education.

Before joining Hamline, Dan Loritz served in the Minnesota Governor's office as Deputy Chief of Staff and the Director of Government Relations. He also served several years in the Minnesota Department of Education as Assistant Commissioner for the Division of Instruction as well as the Director for the Office of Governmental Relations, and as an international education consultant. He earned his B.A in psychology from Hamline and a Masters in Teaching from the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire.
