• Paralegal Certificate Scholarships

    Hamline University recognizes the important role that scholarships serve in helping students finance their education and offers scholarships to incoming graduate and undergraduate students pursuing the ABA-approved Paralegal Certificate. 

    Scholarships for Paralegal Students 

    3M Scholarship - $1,000

    The 3M scholarship is awarded each year to one undergraduate and one graduate student pursuing the Paralegal Certificate with a demonstrated financial need who will contribute to the diversity of the paralegal profession. The scholarship is awarded as part of the student's financial aid package.  Interested students must complete the scholarship application form located below.

     Graduate Student Department Scholarships - up to $2,000

    Scholarships of up to $2,000 each will be awarded to incoming graduate Paralegal/MSL students each fall and spring semester. The scholarship is a one-time award (per student) that will be received in the first academic year, distributed evenly over the recipient’s first two semesters in the program when attending at least part time (4 credits).

    Outside Scholarships

    Grants and scholarships can be applied for through a large variety of outside sources. All outside scholarships, grants, and resources must be reported to the Financial Aid Office. Outside grants may reduce the self-help portion of a financial aid award.     Thomson Reuters Scholarship

    The National Federation of Paralegal Associations offers the Thomson Reuters Scholarships to two paralegal students each year. Applications are due in April of each year, and awards are announced by July.

    AAfPE Scholarship

    The American Association for Paralegal Educators awards five $500 scholarships each year to paralegal students in the fall. Essay submissions on a unique topic each year are due in January.
