Layla Stenson (Biology), Hanan Abdi (Biochemistry), and AJ Escalante (Neuroscience) presented their respective posters at the U of M LSSURP/SOAR-REEU poster symposium on Thursday, August 7, after each of them participated in LSSURP/SOAR-REEU research programs over the summer.

Dr. Giovanni Veliz Testifies at Committee Hearing
Dr. Giovanni Veliz, a graduate of the Doctorate in Management and Public Service program, a retired police commander, and a Center for Public Administration and Leadership Fellow, testified before the Judiciary Subcommittee on Border Security and Immigration about the importance of trust-building with immigrant communities.

President Hostetter made her debut at CHS Field — home of Hamline Baseball — for Hamline Night at the St. Paul Saints vs. Worcester Red Sox on July 24, 2025. After throwing out a ceremonial first pitch, she stopped in the broadcast booth to share her thoughts about what makes Hamline special and how the opportunity to lead us brought her home to Minnesota.

Hamline Awarded Grant to Support PAC Program
The Minnesota Office of Higher Education (OHE) has awarded Hamline University an Intervention for College Attendance Program (ICAP) grant to support the Piper Academic Community (PAC) program. ICAP grants provide funding to programs designed to encourage college attendance of historically underserved students, helping bridge the gap between K-12 education and students' first year of postsecondary education.

Hamline Offers Nation's First-of-Type
Beginning in fall 2025, Hamline is launching the nation's first graduate certificate in nature-based education for classroom teachers and other school staff. Building on the success of the Teacher Field School, the ten-credit certificate program includes nature immersion, individualized and team-based approaches to curriculum refinement and student support, and a final synthesis project.
