Transfer students, learn how to register for classes using the steps below.
Steps to register

Make an appointment with CASA
Call CASA at 651-523-2912 to schedule an appointment. Before your meeting, we'll provide you with a list of steps to take and information to gather before you can register, including the steps below.
Read the guide
Read and familiarize yourself with Hamline's Registration Guide for Transfer Students, linked below. The guide will provide helpful pre-registration resources specific to transfers.
Determine your degree standing
You'll receive an email with instructions to log in to Workday — use this system to view all credits you've currently transferred to Hamline. You'll need 128 credits to graduate, with 56 or more of those completed at Hamline. You'll also need to fulfill your Hamline Plan requirements as well as the requirements of your chosen major, which you can learn about on the Undergraduate Program Requirements page and by exploring Hamline's full course catalog on The Bulletin.
Keep these numbers in mind as you decide on your upcoming classes.
Explore Hamline Plan requirements
The Hamline Plan is a mandatory, skills-based curriculum for all majors. Our Hamline Plan page breaks down the requirements of this program and specifies how to determine which of your classes might fulfill which requirement. You can also download the Hamline Plan Worksheet to help you keep track of the requirements you've already met or still need to satisfy.
Complete your new student onboarding
Log in to Workday to complete the steps necessary to get set up and ready to register.
Create a Saved Schedule
Once you know your degree standing and the requirements for your major and Hamline Plan, you can view potential classes by looking in Workday under "Find Course Sections for Registration." As a general rule, you should register for a mix of major and non-major courses. Use the instructions linked below to create a Saved Schedule. You'll use this schedule when registering for classes with CASA.
Meet with CASA to register
At your appointment, we'll review your transfer work, finalize your Saved Schedule, and determine a realistic graduation date. We'll also go over final steps and "what to expects" for the registration process. Most transfer students find this meeting extremely useful in planning their time at Hamline.
We're thrilled you've decided to join our community. We can't wait to meet you!
