Hamline Athletics participates in NCAA Common Ground program

A group of Hamline student-athletes and athletics staff attended the Common Ground program, hosted by the National Collegiate Athletic Association Office of Inclusion March 3–5 at the NCAA National Office in Indianapolis. The three-day program brought together nearly 70 student-athletes, coaches and administrators from 15 institutions for educational sessions, intentional dialogue and collaborative planning. Participants explored ways to foster respectful, inclusive athletics environments while building stronger relationships across differences in faith perspectives, gender identities and sexual orientations. During the program, campus teams worked together to develop action plans they will bring back to their institutions. Hamline’s group returned with new tools and ideas to continue strengthening connection, understanding and leadership within Piper Athletics.
