Piper Funding Week is Coming

 Hello Hamline Community! The Annual Giving Team is excited to announce Piper Funding Week March 27-31. Piper Funding Week is your opportunity to crowdfund for the departments, programs, and projects you are passionate about here at Hamline with the support of the Annual Giving Team.

Are you part of a project, program, or department that would like to crowdfund to support your work? If so, we’d love to meet and learn more. Please reach out to Chelsea Skluzacek or Arie Kroger ‘05 [5]) by March 1 and we’ll get a meeting set up.

Here is how Annual Giving will support you:
We’ll provide an online competitive crowdfunding campaign platform/page, one mass email advertising Piper Funding Week, one direct mail piece advertising Piper Funding Week, three mass emails supporting your crowdfunding effort, coordination with Alumni Annual Fund (AAF) Board, promotion on multiple social media channels, toolkits for fundraising outreach, prospective donors to reach out to, our professional guidance in developing every aspect your campaign, and support the whole way through.

Here is what we’ll need from you:
We’ll need to connect with you and talk about your area’s fundraising goals to ensure Annual Giving and crowdfunding is the correct approach. If so, we’ll provide you with a list of campaign materials we’ll need including:
* Goal: number of donors or the total donation amount you would like to achieve
* Case for Support: aka the reason why people should support your fundraising goal
* A video: We’ll send you a link to record one or you can upload one of your own
* 3+ photos: We’ll help you pick these from Hamline’s marketing materials or you can provide your own
*For extra credit you can also give us additional content about your crowdfunding project so we can write better supporting materials, and you can talk with potential financial donors ahead of time to secure funds for a match or challenge

MOST IMPORTANTLY:
*We’ll need you to pull together a group (small or large) of advocates and champions (student advocates are very effective) that are willing and dedicated to doing fundraising outreach with you to support your project/program/department. Crowdfunding works best when the appeals are personal and real. Last year, Annual Giving had the opportunity to support the following initiatives:
* Scanning Electron Microscope
* Student Emergency Fund
* Bush Memorial Library
* Hamline Unrestricted Fund
* Anthropology Department
* Food Resource Center
* HSB Career Mentor Program Endowment
* Opportunity Scholarship Program

Join us this year so we can continue to provide an exceptional Hamline experience for current and future Pipers!
