Center for Global Environmental Education Faculty Featured in Journal of Marine Education

John Shepard and Kris Bennett, part of Hamline University’s Center for Global Environmental Education (CGEE), are featured in a special edition of Current: The Journal of Marine Education focused on the Southern Association of Marine Educators. Shepard, an associate professor and assistant director of CGEE, and Bennett, the K-12 resources director, were part of the CGEE team that produced Waters to the Sea™ Gulf Coast Adventure.

The program is an online educational resource offering multimedia exploration of marine environments, estuaries, river deltas, and watersheds of the U.S. Gulf Coast. It combines new and curated media with content from CGEE’s extensive archive of Gulf Coast learning resources and was developed in collaboration with the Gulf of America Alliance. This multi-state consortium of federal and state agencies and other stakeholders in Florida, Georgia, Mississippi, Louisiana, and Texas is dedicated to working on regional coastal issues. The program was created with NOAA pass-through funding via the Gulf Alliance.
