Update from the July 20, 2023 Meeting of the Acting/Interim President Search Committee

Dear Hamline Community,

Thank you so much for your assistance in sharing the position profile and website for the Acting/Interim Presidential Search. The Search Committee met most recently on July 20 to review the applications and nominations received to date, to refine our criteria for assessing applicants, and to consider our questions for our initial interviews.  

We are pleased with the caliber of candidates that have offered themselves for consideration. However, we continue to seek to build the widest and strongest pool of candidates possible. We all know these are unique and complex times for higher education, therefore we are seeking an innovative leader who can come alongside the Hamline community to guide us in addressing our challenges and opportunities and position us well for a strong future.  If you know someone that you believe would be a great candidate, please encourage them to apply.  

The Search Committee will meet next on Wednesday, August 2 to review all letters of interest and resumes received and to determine which we will advance into the interview process. Initial interviews will be held on Wednesday, August 9. Our Search Committee consists of faculty, students, staff and Board of Trustee members (the majority of them alums). We are working well together, and all are highly committed to the future of Hamline and bringing their best to this process. Your support and encouragement of their efforts is very appreciated.
