Students and Faculty Win EPA Grant

Hamline physics students Amy J. Sherren, Jacob R. Niemann, and Austin D. Duncan have received a $15,000 grant from the Environmental Protection Agency for their project Snow Removal for Northern Solar Panel Operation. This grant is a unique opportunity for students to compete nationally for Federal funding. Dr. Lifeng Dong is the faculty supervisor for the grant. Dong provided opportunities for several teams of physics students to write and submit proposals each year. Sherren, Niemann, and Duncan received one of 37 projects funded across the country.
