• Day at the Capitol

The State Grant Program is a critical piece of many Hamline students' higher education funding and represents more than 2 million dollars in total aid to Hamline students. The Day at the Capitol event is an opportunity each spring for Hamline students to participate in the legislative process by encouraging state legislators to support the State Grant Program.

Students attending the Day at the Capitol event will have the opportunity to:

    • Add a personal story to their resumes and develop themselves professionally,
    • Learn firsthand how the legislative process works,
    • Support fellow Hamline students who rely upon the state grant program to fund their Hamline education, and
    • Expand their networks by connecting with Hamline alumni who work at the Capitol.

The State Grant Program not only supports Hamline students but is also Minnesota's largest financial aid program, providing financial aid for almost 100,000 Minnesota college students. Hamline students can play an important role in helping to urge legislators to continue to support the state grant program for Minnesota College students during a difficult economic time.
