Curt Lund, associate professor in digital and studio arts, presented at an international roundtable for the Society of Architectural Historians on March 27.
The session, titled “New Research on the 1925 Paris Exhibition,” was organized by SAH’s Historic Interiors affiliate group and brought together scholars from Belgium and Sweden.
Lund's presentation, "Alexey Brodovitch and the 1925 Paris Exposition as Launchpad," explored the absence of American design and designers at the exposition and highlighted the award-winning work of emerging multidisciplinary designer Brodovitch. The talk examined the recent archival discoveries connecting these two aspects leading to Brodovitch's emigration to the U.S. in 1930.
