HSEL Awarded CEEDAR Grant and Partnership

HSEL has secured a partnership with the Collaboration for Effective Educator Development, Accountability, and Reform (CEEDAR) Center. CEEDAR Center’s stated mission is to /support students with disabilities in achieving college-and career-ready standards by building the capacity of state personnel preparation systems to prepare teachers and leaders to implement evidence-based practices within multi-tiered systems of support.

Through a grant supported by the Office of Special Education (OSEP), the CEEDAR Center has established partnerships with 23 states. Specifically, Minnesota has four Education and Leadership Preparation programs involved, which includes Hamline University. HSEL sent a contingent of faculty and staff (who were part of the HSEL Outreach Taskforce) to the annual CEEDAR conference in San Francisco this past February to continue ongoing work with enhancing teacher and school leader preparation. Representing Hamline at the conference: Dr. Linnette Werner, Associate Dean of the College of Liberal Arts, Dr. Jinger Gustafson, Professor of Practice and Director of the Administrative Licensure Program, Dr. Suzanne Gikas, Professor of Practice, and Jessica Mueller, License Certification Officer, Accreditation Coordinator, and Degree Administrator.
