Welcome, new and returning students!

During the first week of classes, the Hamline University Programming Board (HUPB) hosts Fall Welcome Week, a series of fun events that give students the opportunity to get together, make friends, and build community. The week culminates in the Welcome Back Block Party, an outdoor event featuring food trucks, inflatables, lawn games, and more.

Monday, September 7: Silent Disco

7 to 9 p.m. | Klas Center, Kay Fredericks Ballroom
Grab your headphones and dance your way through a Silent Disco! A DJ will be running three music channels, so you can pick your vibe and dance to your favorite music!

Tuesday, September 8: Movie on the Lawn and Movie Trivia

8:30 to 10:30 p.m. | Drew Science Lawn
Lay your blankets out on DSC Lawn and enjoy the movie, “How to Train Your Dragon.” Snacks will be available, and you'll have a chance to win prizes by playing movie trivia!

Wednesday, September 9: Cookies & Crafting

3 to 5 p.m. | Anderson Center, Rooms 304/305
Get cozy and creative at Cookies & Crafting! Decorate cookies, make your own bracelets, and personalize a mug while enjoying a relaxing fall evening with friends!

Wednesday, September 9: Bingo!

7:30 to 9:30 p.m. | Anderson Center, Rooms 111/112
Test your luck at Bingo! Celebrate wrapping up the first day of classes by competing in 10 rounds of Bingo for fun prizes, enjoying food, and meeting new friends!

Thursday, September 10: Adopt-a-Plant

11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. | Old Main Lawn
Adopt your favorite succulent and spend time decorating your pot with friends! Create a little plant friend to brighten up your dorm room and make your space feel like home.

Friday, September 11: Interactive Game Show Experience

7 to 9 p.m. | Anderson Center, Rooms 111/112
Get ready to play, compete, and feel like a real game show contestant! The Game Show Studio is bringing performers, a giant buzzer, and plenty of surprises for an interactive experience you won’t want to miss. Jump in and compete for prizes or sit back, watch, and cheer on your fellow students!

Saturday, September 12: Scoops & Supplies

6 to 8 p.m. | Old Main Lawn
Decorate a notebook, bookmark, and pencil case, then pack your pencil case with free school supplies to help you start the semester prepared. Plus, enjoy an outdoor hangout with a visit from an ice cream truck!

Sunday, September 13: Welcome Back Block Party

1 to 5 p.m. | Parking Lot C
Kick off the new school year at our Welcome Back Block Party! Enjoy great food from local food trucks, bounce around on inflatables, visit our petting zoo with 20–25 goats, get a tarot reading, enjoy some crafts, and connect with other Pipers!
