2025 Spring Leadership Week events

Day at the Capitol

The State Grant Program is a critical piece of many Hamline students' higher education funding and represents more than two million dollars in total aid to Hamline students. Day at the Capitol provides a unique opportunity for Hamline students to participate in the legislative process. This year, Hamline students joined hundreds of other student advocates for a powerful day of advocacy training, skill-building, meeting with legislators, and networking.

Student Organization Officer Transition Workshop

In March, SALD joined the Hamline University Leadership Club for a workshop to learn about best practices on transitioning student organization leadership for 2025-26.

Mental Health for High-Performing Professionals

In this workshop, led by speaker Katharine Knott, participants explored practical tools for building resilience, practicing self-care, and identifying the early signs of mental exhaustion before they escalate. The session empowered participants with actionable strategies for sustaining mental health, preventing burnout, and achieving a balanced work-life dynamic.

StepUP! Bystander Intervention & De-escalation Workshop

StepUP! is Hamline's revamped prosocial behavior and bystander intervention program to prepare our community to be proactive in helping others. StepUP! attendees learn to assess both themselves and the situation at hand to determine the best approach to intervention, and to practice these skills in a wide range of scenarios related to interpersonal violence, sexual assault, driving while intoxicated, hate speech, verbal conflict, and more. Attendees receive a certificate and t-shirt, as well as the opportunity to become a paid facilitator.

Women’s Leadership Retreat

The Women's Leadership Retreat, held in March, is a weekend outing designed to promote social consciousness, self-awareness, and leadership skills in emerging and established student leaders. The retreat specifically explores the issues facing women leaders and potential strategies to overcome these obstacles. This free retreat provides a great opportunity to network with other leaders on campus while learning more about yourself and your abilities as a student leader.
