Piper Athletes Honored on MIAC All-Academic Teams

Finding the right balance between books and playing a sport is not easy to do. Twice a year, the MIAC honors those athletes who have found a way to master both pursuits. The league released its Winter/Spring Academic All-Conference teams ... and Hamline is well represented. To make the team, a student be a sophomore, junior, or senior with a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.5 on a 4.0 scale. In addition, student-athletes in team sports must compete in 50 percent of their team’s regular-season varsity contests. The team sports eligible were baseball, men's and women's basketball, men's and women's hockey, softball and men's and women's tennis. Swimming and diving student-athletes must qualify for the conference finals to be eligible and both indoor and outdoor track and field student-athletes must finish in the top eight in an individual event or be on a top-three relay team at the MIAC Championships to be eligible for the honor.

(Gymnastics is not a MIAC sport and is not eligible for this team.)

Both hockey teams and Men's Outdoor Track & Field led the way with four representatives apiece.
