Director Lucinda Jesson Presents at the Minnesota League of Women Voters


On January 12, Director of the Health Law Institute, Lucinda Jesson spoke at the Minnetonka branch of the League of Minnesota Women Voters on the health reform proposals of the major presidential candidates.Professor Jesson provided a description of the common themes within the democratic presidential candidates’ proposals, including a review of the highly publicized issue of universal coverage.She also examined the recurring themes within the republican candidates’ proposals, including the push for a shift from employer-based health insurance coverage to individually purchased coverage.In addition, Professor Jesson provided charts that detail each of the major candidates’ plans in regard to seven specific areas, including whether the proposals would provide tax credits and the projected cost of the plans.Click here for a chart on the republican and democratic candidates.
