Kate Meyer to Present on Equitable & Affordable Study Abroad at National Summit

The GEC's Kate Meyer has been selected to talk to the field of Education Abroad on the topic of Equitable and Affordable Study Abroad programing at the International Educator's (NAFSA) Regulatory Summit with US Dept. of Education and Veterans Affairs officials in early August, and on an interactive panel discussion with education abroad colleagues on July 21st.

She is being recognized for her work as NAFSA's Regulatory Practice's Federal Financial Aid Subcommittee Chair focusing on student veterans, low-socioeconomic, and BIPOC communities.

Kate welcomes the opportunity to advocate for communities that may not feel that they can study abroad/away, saying that "transformative educational opportunities, like study abroad/away, are the key to building up students and creating in them a future generation that can face our most striking global challenges. This means that these opportunities must be within reach for all students, no matter their identity, background, or financial circumstance."
