Ashley Robinson '21 and Professor Martínez-Vaz’s Research Featured in ASBMB Today.

Ashley Robinson ’21 and Professor Martínez-Vaz’s research was recently featured in ASBMB Today, the American Society for Biochemistry and Molecular Biology's official member magazine. 

The article describes research conducted in Professor Martinez- Vaz's laboratory that resulted in the identification of bacteria capable of degrading Metformin, one of the most commonly prescribed type II diabetes drugs in the world. Ashley was chosen to give an oral presentation at the annual meeting of the American Society for Biochemistry and Molecular Biology and received an Honorable Mention award in the ASBMB National Undergraduate Poster Competition.
