Announcing T.A. Barron Fellowship

Students applying to the MFAC program for July 2017 are eligible for the T.A. Barron Fellowship for Excellence in Fantasy Writing, which is awarded to an incoming student in fantasy each semester. This one-time award is given to an admitted student who shows outstanding promise in the writing of fantasy for children and young adults that explores moral questions and/or deep ideas about the human condition.
 
The winning student will receive an award of $2,500, to be applied to their Summer and Fall 2017 tuition.
 
How to apply:
 
1. Submit your admission materials for the Hamline MFA in Writing for Children and Young Adults (MFAC) Program by April 14, 2017.
 
2. Submit a 20-page (double-spaced, 12 point font) sample of fantasy written for children and young adults to Hamline University's Creative Writing Programs at cwp@hamline.edu. Use "T.A. Barron Fellowship Submission" as the subject line. This submission may be the same as creative writing sample submitted in the application, if desired. Deadline: April 16, 2017.

The winner will be announced on or before May 1, 2017.
