Asp Published

Assistant Professor of Psychology Erik Asp will be published in Forensic Scholars Today with Jerrod Brown and other colleagues. The article presents an introduction of Wernicke-Korsakoff Syndrome (WKS) to criminal justice and legal professionals. WKS may develop from extreme malnutrition and can be seen in severe alcoholism. WKS offers a unique challenge to the justice community as confabulation or "honest lying" is often an outcome. Implications for forensics, the judicial process, and the reliability of courtroom testimony are discussed.
