The National Theatre Company, which founded the Tony Awards, is honoring Yellow Tree Theatre with a $10,000 grant. The 120 seat theater is one of only 7 in the country to get the award.

“The quality of work that these remarkable theatre companies produce is nothing short of inspiring,” said Marva Smalls, chair of the National Theatre Company Grants committee, in a statement. “They further the conversations of issues important to their local communities.”

About Yellow Tree Theatre

Yellow Tree Theatre (Osseo, MN) brings stories to life that ignite passion, inspire laughter and awaken possibility while exploring and celebrating the great complexities of the human spirit. We strive to be a welcoming artistic venue where people of all ages and walks of life can gather to experience authentic community, and to produce high-quality professional productions in the heart of the Northwest suburbs of Minneapolis, making live theatre more accessible to the community.

Yellow Tree Theatre was founded in 2008 by theatre artists and husband/wife team Jason Peterson and Jessica Lind Peterson in response to a need for the arts in the Osseo/Maple Grove area. Yellow Tree was born with the goal of creating a welcoming artistic venue, with live theater as its backbone, which would also serve as a vibrant artistic hub for the community.
