Management Students at Ryder Cup

Undergraduate students in Hamline's Promotion and Event Planning (MGMT 3790) served as corporate hospitality volunteers at the PGA Ryder Cup at Hazeltine National Golf Club in Chaska, September 27-October 2. The Ryder Cup is the most prestigious men's golf team competition in the world between the top players in the U.S. and Europe.

Twenty-two students from Lamar Shingles’ class at Hamline volunteered along with students from Mankato, St. Cloud State, St. Thomas, and Concordia. Students worked in the Robert Hudson Village at the course where they scanned tickets, enforced the mobile phone policy, interacted with guests by answering questions and providing customer service, and retrieved equipment in designated storage areas. Students went through volunteer training in class and at Hazeltine before the tournament.
