Fall 2015 Athletics

Cool as Ice

Charlie Adams ’16 sure knew how to make a good first impression. The transfer student scored twice in his first Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (MIAC) men’s hockey game as a Piper and kept on gunning all season, finishing with a team-leading 19 goals. He added 15 assists for a total of 34 points— second best on the team to linemate Brandon Zurn ’16, who finished with 35.
The Mahtomedi native was a major player in one of the great stories in college hockey, as Hamline went from two wins in 2013–2014 to the MIAC postseason championship and a National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) quarterfinal berth in 2014–2015. The MIAC title was won the hard way, as Hamline claimed three wins in nine days—all on the road. Adams scored three goals and added five assists in the trio of games. He also was named to the American Hockey Coaches Association (AHCA) West All-America Team and the MIAC All-Conference contingent.
