Application Checklist for Transfer Students
Use the list below to prepare for and complete the application process.
1. Transfer Application
Complete your application and submit it to Hamline University. Online applications are automatically sent to our admission office. You can also download a paper application and mail it in to our office.

2. Academic Records
At Least One Year of Full-Time College Coursework (24–32 Credits)
Submit all transcripts from every postsecondary institution that you attended. Transcripts should be sent to Hamline directly from your school's registrar.
Less than one year of full-time college course work:
In addition to the above, please submit:
- Official high school transcripts sent to Hamline directly from your high school.
- (Optional) ACT or SAT results sent to Hamline from ACT, the College Board, or your high school.
3. Dean of Students Form
Transfer students must have the Dean of Students form completed by the dean at their most recent school. The form must be sent to the Hamline Office of Undergraduate Admission directly from the institution that is completing it.
4. Recommendation Letter (optional)
We encourage applicants to have at least one letter of recommendation by a faculty member sent directly to Hamline.
Application Deadlines
August 1: Fall Term
Applications for the fall semester are due August 1 (extended to August 12, rolling admission afterwards. Call the admission office if you are still interested in applying). Decisions are made throughout the year on a rolling basis.
November 15: Early Action Spring Term
All application materials are due November 15. Hamline's early action program is nonbinding; you may apply to other colleges.
January 10: Spring Term
Applications for the spring semester are due January 10. Decisions are made on a rolling basis.
March 15: Early Action Fall Term
All application materials are due March 15.
Decisions will be mailed by April 15. Hamline's early action program is
nonbinding; you may apply to other colleges.
Deposits
Class registration materials are sent after the comprehensive deposit is received.
