Celebrate Teammates of the month

The monthly recognition series supports the goals of Hamline’s strategic plan to embrace a culture of teamwork and success. Once a month, we’ll spotlight one faculty member, one staff member and one student who exemplify teamwork, service, leadership or commitment to our community. Nominations can be made until the last day of each month. Inside Hamline will feature the “Teammates of the Month” recognition announcements on the first Monday of each month. Do you know someone who has gone above and beyond? Nominate them here.

Jacob Hasapopoulos

Student Teammate of the Month

Jacob Hasapopoulos demonstrated what it means to be a great teammate and member of the Hamline community when he noticed a neighbor clearing storm drains near campus. Rather than simply passing by, Hasapopoulos stopped, asked if she needed help, parked his car, grabbed a shovel, and worked alongside her until the job was finished. What stood out most was Hasapopoulos stepped up simply because he saw someone who could use a hand. His kindness, selflessness, and willingness to serve others are a great example of Piper Pride and the type of impact our students can make beyond campus. We are proud to recognize Hasapopoulos as our Student Teammate of the Month!

Jatoya “Redd” Barnes

Staff Teammate of the Month

Jatoya “Redd” has been an important member of our Dining Service team since September 2024, serving in a variety of roles before taking the lead at our Simply 3 allergen station. Her hard work, communication, and leadership helped make the station a success and led to her promotion to a lead position this fall. Barnes brings the strategic plan’s commitment to “engagement, pride, and fun” to everything she does. Her positive attitude makes her a joy to work with, and her Piper Pride extends beyond Dining Services as she regularly shows up to support our student-athletes at their games. We are excited to recognize Barnes as our Staff Teammate of the Month!

Paula Mullineau

Faculty Teammate of the Month

Paula Mullineaux, associate professor of psychology and chair of psychology,  demonstrated tremendous leadership following the Robbins Science Center bus incident. From the beginning of the response through the recovery process, Mullineaux stepped in wherever needed, helping faculty secure temporary classrooms, labs, and office space while supporting countless logistical and equipment needs. Mullineaux's leadership and advocacy were instrumental in supporting student researchers, bringing Robbins back online for Chemistry faculty, and preparing the building for the fall semester. Much of her work happened quietly behind the scenes, but her care, responsiveness, and commitment made a tremendous impact. We are proud to recognize Mullineaux as our Faculty Teammate of the Month.
