Curt Lund, associate professor of graphic design, was awarded third place out of 39 entries in the Gallery 96 Art Gallery winter 2026 exhibition for his screenprint “Par-A-Dice Motel.”
Tara Sweeney, professor emeritus of art at Augsburg University, served as juror and noted Lund’s work for its “bold objective abstraction of letter forms and graphic color are riveting and, somehow, comical.”
The piece is part of a series inspired by vintage atomic-era hotel signage in the East Fremont neighborhood of Las Vegas. Lund’s artwork was on display from Jan. 22-Feb. 28 at the Ramsey County Library branch in Shoreview.
Selections from Lund's "East Fremont Project" have previously been exhibited at the Banfill-Locke Center for the Arts in Fridley and Altered Esthetics gallery in Minneapolis.
