Professors Marcela Kostihova,, English, and Irina Makarevitch, biology, presented at the 2026 American Association of Colleges and Universities (AAC&U) annual meeting.
They co-led a workshop on integrating generative AI into liberal arts education, exploring human-in-the-loop pedagogy, faculty agency and interdisciplinary approaches to teaching and learning.
In addition, Kostihova co-led a roundtable discussion with Ariane Balizet of Texas Christian University and Natalie Eschenbaum of University of Washington Tacoma on educating for democratic resilience. The conversation examined leadership, faculty support, and the evolving role of the humanities amid contemporary political and institutional pressures.
