Bridget Jacques-Fricke, associate professor in the biology department and neuroscience program, presented her work at the International Conference of Developmental Biology, held June 18-22 in San Juan, Puerto Rico. The project, entitled “Characterizing the impact of NSD3 and CAMK2 on cranial neural crest migration and morphology," is a collaboration with researchers at the University of Minnesota and includes data collected by AJ Escalante (’26) and Ethan Heide (’26) during their summer research in 2024. This work aims to identify a novel signaling pathway in the development of neural crest cells, a stem cell population found in vertebrate embryos. Jacques-Fricke’s travel to the conference was partially funded by a travel grant from the Society for Developmental Biology.
