Live Your Dream, Teach Overseas

After graduation, experience another culture while living and working overseas with the Teaching English as a Foreign Language (TEFL) Certificate at Hamline.

Through an interactive hands-on approach, students discover the principles and practices of teaching English as a foreign language. Hamline's nationally recognized graduate program was established in 1991 and over 1500 Hamline graduates have taught in more than 50 countries worldwide.

The TEFL course is by application only; undergraduates must be a junior or senior at the start of the course. Students must take TEFL Part I (EDU 6621) in the fall and TEFL Part II (EDU 6622) in the spring to be eligible for the TEFL Certificate. Please contact Betsy Parrish via email or call 651-523-2853 for information on the application process and to set up a short interview.
