StepUP! Bystander Intervention Trainings

We are excited to announce Hamline is moving to StepUP! as our bystander intervention program to educate students about how to be proactive in helping others. Want to learn more about being a bystander and what stops us stepping up in situations where we see something that isn't right? Want to learn some tools and skills to help step up more regularly? Then this training is right for you.

Previously we have been a GreenDot campus. The StepUP! approach builds on this program while providing us opportunities to think more intersectionally and inclusively in how we respond to concerns and interrupt unwelcomed actions in our community. It also teaches students how to train their peers to be active members of our community. Sign up for one of the tree upcoming training sessions.

The first training is a New Student Throwdown, and is for first year students, transfer students, or people who have never gone through Green Dot training. It will be held on Tuesday, September 18 at 4 p.m.-5:30 p.m. Pease pre-register here by September 16 so that enough materials can be prepared.

The second training session allows attendee to learn more about the StepUP! model in a crash course. It will be held on Thursday, September 20 from 11:15 a.m.-12:45 p.m in Anderson 305. Please pre-register here by September 16.

Faculty and staff can learn more about StepUP! and how to engage their students on Tuesday, October 16 from 4 - 5:30p.m in Anderson 112. Please pre-register here by October 10.
