    The following are benefit options currently available to Hamline employees who meet the eligibility requirements of the respective programs.  Please review the detail below regarding eligibility, cost and coverage.  Note that Hamline benefits may change from time-to-time at the discretion of the University. 

    Medical Plans - Medica Insurance

    •  Overview:  Hamline has four medical plans to choose from and three network options.  If you need assistance determining what plan or network is the best option for you, or reviewing prescription information, please utilize  Hamline's Medica Pre-Enrollment website

    Health Savings Account - Optum

    •  Overview: Employees who select coverage under plans A or B are eligible to contribute to a Health Savings Account (HSA) through Optum.  Contributions made to a HSA are deducted from your payroll check pre-tax and may be used to pay for IRS approved medical, dental and vision expenses; contributions made to HSA accounts roll over to the new calendar year if unused.

    Dental Plan - Delta Dental

    •  Overview:  Hamline has two network options through Delta Dental; 1) Delta Dental PPO and 2) Delta Dental Premier.  No plan selection is required, both network options are available at the same cost options.

    Vision Plan - EyeMed

    •  Overview:  An annual vision exam is covered by regular medical insurance as an annual visit, however, the EyeMed Vision plan assists if an employee wears glasses or contacts.  When using a in-network provider, EyeMed will pay a portion of the glasses or contact expenses.  EyeMed helps with glasses or contacts in a calendar year, but not both in the same calendar year.

    Health Care Flexible Spending Plan (FSA) - 121 Benefits

    •  Overview:  Hamline has Medical Flexible Spending Accounts (FSA) through 121 Benefits.  FSA plans can be used to pay for IRS approved medical, dental and vision expenses.  FSA plans are elected annually, pre-tax contributions made to a FSA must be utilized by December 31 annually.

    Additional Information

    • To make a mid year election change due to a qualifying life event, contact the Benefits Office at 651-523-2815.  All changes must be made within 30 days of the status change event.date.
