A new survey from the Minnesota Office of Higher Education asks about the value of need-based grants for students at nonprofit colleges and universities.
A quarter of students at Minnesota’s private nonprofit institutions – which includes Hamline – receive a Minnesota State Grant, which is key to helping make college affordable. The State Grant program is facing a significant shortfall.
We encourage you to speak up for State Grant awards by completing the survey by Oct. 23. The survey is open to students and their families.
The last two questions in the survey get at whether students at private nonprofit colleges should receive state financial aid. In addition to answering the questions, we encourage you to add your personal comments.
