National Public Health WEEK

National public health week

From residence hall sanitation policies that reduce the spread of disease to snow and ice removal that helps prevent injuries, public health shapes campus life in ways many don’t realize.

National Public Health Week, April 6-12, celebrates how these initiatives improve everyday life and community well-being. Through policies, infrastructure, social systems and homes, public health makes it easier to choose healthier choices.

Throughout the week, the Public Health program will host two on-campus events open to all students, faculty and staff.

Harm Reduction with Midway Medical
Join Midway Medical on Tuesday, 11:30 a.m.-12:45 p.m.,  in assembling kits to support harm reduction and prevention of infectious disease in the Hamline Midway neighborhood. Learn more about harm reduction and RSVP for location

Public Health Alumni Lunch and Learn
On Thursday, 11:30 a.m.-12:45 p.m., in Bush HUB located on the basement level of Bush Student Center, students can hear from a panel of alumni as they share their post-Hamline career journeys. Refreshments will be provided. RSVP here.

The Public Health program allows students to study issues affecting entire communities by considering local, national, and global strategies to promote health. It offers B.A. options in health science and health equity.
