Dustin Johnson named Hamline Associate Vice President for Facilities Services

Dustin Johnson has joined Hamline University as Associate Vice President for Facilities Services and Capital Planning.
 
In this role, Johnson leads Facility Services departments, overseeing teams responsible for campus operations and maintenance, custodial and grounds services, environmental health and safety, utilities and energy management, and campus planning, design and construction. 

He also sets strategic and long-range priorities, guides campus master planning and capital projects, advances sustainability and energy stewardship, and ensures that facilities effectively support teaching, learning, and community life.   

Johnson came to Hamline from the University of Wisconsin-Superior, where he served as Director of Facilities Management. In that role, he led campus operations and supervised staff, budgets and facilities programs to students, staff and faculty. Earlier in his career at UW-Superior, he held leadership roles in facilities management, building on over 15 years of experience in campus operations, planning energy management and sustainability. Before this role, he owned and operated his own contracting business.

He holds a Master of Fine Arts in Design from the University of Kansas and a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Minnesota Duluth.

He assumed his duties on Jan. 5.
