President Fayneese Miller has announced that she will retire from Hamline. President Miller has been an innovative and transformational leader of Hamline for the past eight years. The Board of Trustees, with constituency input, has formed an Acting/Interim President Search and Selection Ad-hoc Advisory Committee to identify a leader to begin January 1, 2024.
The committee met for the first time on June 14.

At the meeting on June 14, the committee reviewed the committee charge, outlined the search process and timetable, and engaged in robust discussion about the qualifications and experience desired in an acting/interim president for Hamline at this time.
The committee will hold listening sessions for leaders of the Hamline community including Faculty Council, HUSA, HUSC, and alumni and, by the end of June, the committee plans to have a position profile ready to use in the search. That profile will be made public once approved.
The goal of the committee is to forward at least two unranked finalist candidates to the Board of Trustees in advance of its regularly scheduled fall 2023 meeting.
The university has created a webpage, hamline.edu/presidentialsearch, that will house information about the search process, as well as the position profile once it has been finalized. Also, after each search team meeting, an update will be posted there.
So, what can you do to help us find the next great acting/interim president for Hamline?

- Feel free to provide input directly to your representatives on the search committee. Please know that, in order to attract candidates who may not necessarily be actively looking for a new role or position and allow for robust discussion in the search process, we all have signed confidentiality agreements so that information about the candidates and our deliberations are not shared. While we are not in a position to share confidential information, we are able to receive input from you. Please do reach out with your input as the search progresses.
