Julia Wang is an assistant professor of forensic science. Dr. Wang holds a B.S. in human biology from The University of Texas at Austin, an M.S. in biotechnology from The University of Texas Health Science Center at Tyler, and a Ph.D. in forensic science from Sam Houston State University. Dr. Wang began her career in working in cell biology and cancer research, transitioning to researching feeding behaviors through translational models before studying forensic science. Her background as a cell and molecular biologist supports her current research in emerging biotechnologies applied to forensic biology and DNA, particularly in analysis of challenging evidence types.
Dr. Wang’s teaching style emphasizes fostering independent and critically thinking students.
