    High School Innovation Camp

    This camp will introduce basic principles and best practices of the innovation process and provide the opportunity to develop and present an innovation plan.

    At camp, you will:

    • Participate in interactive sessions with accomplished innovators, such as Arthur Fry, the inventor of Post-It Note; Roger Appeldorn, the inventor of the overhead projector.

    • Visit local innovative corporations such as Medtronic.

    • Work with team members to collaboratively develop, write, and present an innovation plan that focuses on market analysis, financial planning, risk management, systems thinking, opportunity analysis, and intellectual property.

    Camp details

    Who: Students entering or in grades 912
    When: June 22-26, 2020; 9 a.m.  5 p.m.
    Where: Hamline University's Saint Paul campus
    Cost: $398 per person before May 31; $498 per person after May 31. The cost includes five lunches, supplies, water bottle, t-shirt, and field trip transportation.
    Deposit: $50 nonrefundable deposit for those who wish to be considered for a scholarship and $200 nonrefundable deposit for all other registrants.


    Scholarships may be available based on financial need and are awarded on a first come, first served basis. To apply, submit an essay about why the camp is important to you and how the scholarship helps your participation (500–1000 words) to Dr. Lifeng Dong at ldong03@hamline.edu no later than April 30, 2020.
