Chinese Studies -- Great Wall

Chinese Studies Minor

Studying Chinese opens countless doors and opportunities for your future. After English, Chinese is the second most spoken language in the world. With Chinese, you'll be able to connect with billions of people, from the workplace to art and culture to interpersonal relationships.

You'll study speaking and writing in a variety of personal and professional contexts and learn within a project-based curriculum, like navigating Chinese language websites to typing in Chinese in your first semester.

In an ever-more connected world, Chinese cultural and language fluency makes you a promising candidate for employers seeking bilingual workers. You'll create a digital portfolio of your work to share with potential employers or graduate schools.

The Chinese program at Hamline didn't just teach me to speak and write Chinese. It also helped me connect to Chinese language and culture. My language ability and cultural competency has opened so many doors for me.
