Volunteer this summer to help us maintain the Hamline Peace and Appreciation Garden and MicroFarm! There is an opportunity to join us Wednesday, April 24, 2024 from 4:30-5:30 p.m. in the MicroFarm and Thursday, April 25, 2024 from 4:45-5:15 at the Peace & Appreciation Garden to learn more in-person. Also, email us at cjl@hamline.edu with any questions or to volunteer your time. Additionally, there may be a stipend available for students who wish to manage the gardens this summer.

Join the Hamline Center for Justice and Law, Sierra Club, and MN Environmental Justice Table for the April Film Night! On April 24, we will be watching a free screening of "STOP the Reroute: Taking a Stand On Sacred Land" in Drew Science 118. The film will teach us about the American Indian Movement and the Minnehaha Free State activation around loving the land and trying to stop destruction from road construction. Join Environment & Climate Studies, the Center for Justice and Law, and Hamline Sustainability for Alumni Earth Week Meet Up at the Garden! The event will take place at the Peace & Appreciation Garden (north of East Hall, behind Bush Memorial Library, and south of Lot B). We cannot wait to see you there!

Hayes and Mariame Kaba. Optionally, engage with the accompanying workbook which can be downloaded & printed for free at https://www.haymarketbooks.org/books/2200-let-this-radicalize-you-workbook

For Part Three of this book club, read to the end of the book, and engage in conversation on the final chapters of the book: “Hope and Grief Can Co-exist,” “Organizing Isn’t Matchmaking,” “Avoiding Burnout,” “Relationships, Reciprocity, and Struggle,” and “Beyond Doom, Toward Collective Action.”
