Urinetown is a hilarious musical satire of the legal system, capitalism, social irresponsibility, populism, environmental collapse, privatization of natural resources, bureaucracy, municipal politics, and musical theatre itself! Both uproariously funny and touchingly honest, it offers a fresh perspective on one of America's greatest art forms. The plot: In a Gotham-like city, a terrible water shortage caused by a 20-year drought has led to a government-enforced ban on private toilets. The citizens must use public amenities, regulated by a single malevolent company which profits by charging admission for one of humanity's most basic needs. Amid the people, a hero decides he's had enough, and plans a revolution to lead them all to freedom! |

Getting from College to Career: Myths & Realities |
Return on investment (ROI) is, no doubt, a concern for many college students and their supporters when making decisions about furthering their education. People want to know that the time, efforts, and monetary investments associated with higher education will truly make a difference in career readiness and job acquisition following degree completion. In the Career Development Center, our goal is to work collaboratively with students, staff, and faculty to introduce and reinforce career development opportunities in all spaces on campus throughout every step of the college journey. In this presentation, Career Development staff members will share who we are, where to find us, frameworks that guide our coaching philosophies, ways to encourage your students to engage at all phases of their education, upcoming engagement opportunities, and the ongoing support available to help students succeed. Every one of these pieces contributes to making career development at Hamline valuable. We hope you will join us to learn more. |
