Institutional Advancement

Institutional Advancement (IA) focuses its efforts on strengthening the reputation of the university among all key audiences and securing financial resources in support of current and future generations of Hamline students.

Offices and staff

IA staff members work to tell the Hamline story and to clarify, elevate, and share the Hamline brand. They secure new partnerships with internal and external constituents, strengthen relationships with alumni, grow the endowment, and expand the university's base of philanthropic resources.

Advancement Operations

Advancement Operations is an integrated team comprised of gift and data integrity, donor relations and stewardship, database management, and IA office coordination. This area is responsible for the overall quality, governance, and accessibility, of data. In addition, Advancement Operations strives to provide excellent customer service in pursuit of securing increased financial support for the top priority of the university.

Alumni Relations

The Alumni Relations Office supports the personal and professional development of our alums through a strong alumni network, plans and executes alumni events and programs for a wide variety of audiences, communicates regularly with our alumni, and helps mobilize alumni for the advancement of Hamline University and the community. The Alumni Office is responsible for the leadership and administration of several alumni boards and committees, actively seeks alumni volunteers on regular and ad-hoc bases, and strategically partners with offices across campus to engage alumni in the life of the University.

Conference and Event Management

Conference and Event Management provides a one-stop resource for event planning, coordination, and advising.

Hamline’s Development Office raises philanthropic support for the University’s strategic priorities. Our team consists of professionals who oversee annual giving programs, grants, and major and planned giving. We welcome the opportunity to engage with donors to better connect them with the University and help them achieve their philanthropic goals.
