    2021-2022 season [PLEASE NOTE: the hall will be open this coming fall - we are following Hamline University's policies closely and monitoring the pandemic situation]

    Sundin Music Hall is often praised for its intimate and warm ambiance as well as its recording-quality acoustics. Sundin is available for rental upon request. Contact Silvester Vicic at svicic01@hamline.edu or 651-523-2197 with questions about rental rates.

    Facility Amenities

    • Digital recording equipment

    Rate includes stage manager and crew, concert hall lighting (no spots or colored lights), sound (basic House P.A. includes podium with microphone and three wireless microphones - monitors and other P.A. extra. See Below, and staff for each. Please note that non-campus renters must supply a certificate of insurance or purchase same through Hamline University in order to rent Sundin Music Hall. Rental costs are on a sliding scale, as noted below.

    The Sundin Music Hall season runs from July 1 - June 30.

    Outside Event Rental - Basic Costs

    Concert Hall Rental (up to 8 hours of hall use):

    Single event: $760.00
    2-4 events: $620.00 per concert
    5+ events: $590.00 per concert
    Each additional hour above 8 hours is billed at $85 per hour. 

    Rehearsal, not on the day of the concert:  

    $195.00 per three hours ($65.00 per hour after that) - extra set up is billed at $65 per hour or partial hour

    Piano USE & tuning:

      $70.00 per piano use without tuning

    $150.00 per piano per tuning

    Percussion instrument use:

    $25 per rehearsal or concert

    Setup and use of Choral Risers: 

    $40 per rehearsal or concert (no extra fee if the rehearsal is on the day of the concert)

    Audio Services & recording: 

    Use of Mics for P.A.:  $35 (if extra audio services are engaged, this is folded into the cost of those extra services)

    Concert recordings: $160.00 per recording

    Use of screen and/or projector and/or laptop: 

    $50 per use

    (Please note - we do not have a pull-down screen. Our screen and projector sit on the stage in an appropriate

    configuration for your event)

    Extra Audio services:
    Use of House Tech /Set up of Monitors and Remote Speakers: $135
    Additional mics beyond podium mic and 3 wireless mics: each $25

    Catering requests

    Hamline University's caterer is Aramark. External commercial caterers may be engaged, but notice must be given to the 

    director 2 weeks in advance. No homemade desserts are permitted. Currently, we are NOT allowing food in the lobby.
