Kara Lamoreux is a alum from Hamline University Biology program in Fall 2024. She is now a 2nd year master's student at the University of Minnesota in the Natural Resources Science and Management (NRSM) program. For her senior biology capstone, she worked with Dr. Mike Schuster (currently a biology professor at Hamline) to research how invasive buckthorn litter interacts with a common revegetation species, wildrye grass. With the support from Professor Schuster, her current advisor Dr. Adriana Uscanga, and Dr. Peter Reich (University of Michigan), she was able to develop her findings into a research article. Her time at Hamline supported her to develop robust research and writing skills, particularly her ecology and inclusivity in STEM coursework.
