Hamline Will Participate in the 2026-27 AAC&U Institute on AI, Pedagogy, and the Curriculum

Hamline University will participate in the 2026-27 AAC&U Institute on AI, Pedagogy, and the Curriculum, a year-long national institute that supports colleges and universities in developing thoughtful, mission-centered approaches to artificial intelligence. Hamline's team - Kate Johnston (Student Success), Binnur Ozkececi-Taner (Provost's Office), Kristofer Scheid (IT/Canvas), Amy Sheehan (Library), and Joe Swenson -will work with an AAC&U faculty mentor to build on the important AI-related work already taking place across campus. The team's goal is to develop a coordinated institutional framework that connects teaching and learning, curriculum, student support, technology, governance, and policy, and to work on creating a multi-year roadmap for the responsible implementation of AI. The Institute will also provide an opportunity to learn from peer institutions about balancing advances in AI-related technology with shared governance, transparency, and the values of a liberal arts education.
