Professor of Political Science and Associate Provost Binnur Ozkececi-Taner's new co-edited book, One Hundred Years of Turkish Foreign Policy (1923–2023): Thematic and Conceptual Reflections, was published by Palgrave MacMillan/Springer (May 2026).
The volume builds on Ozkececi-Taner's earlier collaborative work and once again brings together women scholars of Turkish foreign policy based in different parts of the world, each with a wide range of disciplinary perspectives on Turkish politics, foreign policy, and international relations.
The contributors draw from fields including economics, environmental studies, peace studies, sociology, anthropology, political science, and international relations to examine how Turkish foreign policy has evolved over the past century, and how broader global transformations continue to shape it today. The volume pays particular attention to themes that have often remained at the margins of traditional foreign policy analysis, including gender, civil society, human well-being, environmental challenges, and diaspora politics.
At a moment when foreign policy questions increasingly intersect with social, environmental, and human concerns, the book reflects the importance of interdisciplinary conversations and globally situated perspectives in understanding both Türkiye and the changing nature of international politics more broadly.
