Congratulations to MFAC faculty on new book releases

Four faculty of the Creative Writing Programs MFA in Writing for Children and Young Adults have new book releases to celebrate. Tae Keller has a new middle-grade novel releasing March 2026: When Tomorrow Burns, from Random House Books for Young Readers. The book has received starred reviews from Kirkus and the Horn Book.  Nicole Melleby’s new middle-grade novel, Brady Mason’s Perfect Fit, from Little Brown and Co. Books for Young Readers released in January 2026.  Eliot Schrefer’s debut picture book, Lulu and the Others, A True Story, illustrated by AG Ford, released from Clarion Books in February 2026. Sherri L. Smith published a new middle-grade speculative novel, Candace, the Universe, and Everything, from G. P. Putnam’s Sons Books for Young Readers. The book has received A School Library Journal and Chicago Public Library Best Books of the Year as well as starred reviews from School Library Journal and Booklist.
