Education professors Annie Ittner and Letitia Basford presented research at two conferences in November: La Cosecha Dual Language Conference and the English Learner Education (MELEd) Conference.
Their presentation, “Flexibility Within Fidelity: Navigating Teacher Autonomy in a Science of Reading Era,” shares findings from a two-year study exploring the experiences of teachers of multilingual students as they implement a reading curriculum.
The findings from year two illustrate the power of providing teachers with opportunities to be flexible while maintaining core aspects of the curriculum.
