Earlier this week, about 50 teachers from Minnesota, Louisiana, and Jamaica participated in the Mississippi River Institute, a professional development program for K-12 educators led by the Center for Global Environmental Education (CGEE). In addition to exploring the mighty Mississippi at Crosby Farm and Minnehaha Falls, participating teachers toured Minnesota's largest wastewater treatment plant. CGEE partners with the Jeffers Foundation, Meraux Foundation Docville Farm, and the Metropolitan Council to provide hands-on environmental education about water and watersheds.
